Bandai Namco investigates possible bomb threat in its US office

So far, the company believes that employees are safe.

According to IGN, Bandai Namco’s US office received a mining threat – the exact manner in which the unknown contacted the company was not specified.

In its statement to IGN, the company clarified that it cannot call the threat real or false, since the investigation is still ongoing. However, it believes that employees are now safe.

At the same time, the Bandai Namco investigation, apparently, is still being conducted independently – as the journalists found out, the local police department did not hear anything about the threat of mining.

This is not the first time gaming companies have received such threats. At the end of 2018, the Infinity Ward studio was evacuated

due to reports of a possible bomb, and in August, unknown persons announced that they were going to start shooting at Twitch offices. One day, service employees had to work from home while the police were investigating.

The threats of an explosion or shooting are usually taken very seriously, and especially recently – against the background of numerous mass executions in the United States. U.S. President Donald Trump has partly linked the issue with how games romanticize violence, but many disagreed.
