Deep Silver reported stealing keys to the Steam version of Metro Exodus – their publisher deactivates them

Victims are advised to contact the seller and ask for a refund.

The publisher Deep Silver reported that part of the keys to the Steam version of Metro Exodus had been stolen from the factory where the physical copies were printed.

This happened before the game became a temporary exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Initially, the game could be pre-ordered on Steam, and physical copies were also sold with the Steam key inside.

In addition, the software will be removed from the Steam library from all players using unauthorized keys. The keys that are sold on this platform ( stolen from an unofficial intermediary – 

a ) and therefore their use is illegal. 

If you are injured, we strongly recommend that you contact the seller who sold you the unlicensed key and ask for a refund.

The statement also says that only the Humble Bundle and the Razer store can be considered official suppliers. In Russia, the game officially published “Buka”.
