The Office of the Investigative Committee for the Mogilev region shared statistics on cybercrime and told about the investigation of new cases. For example, in March of this year, an accounting officer extorted cryptocurrency to decrypt the data of her organization.
It was like this: the woman opened a letter that came from an unknown address. An employee of the organization downloaded a text document and opened the file — after that, the information on the service computers was encrypted. The attackers offered to remove the blocking for 0.5 Bitcoin (approximately four thousand Belarusian rubles).
In addition, since the end of last year there have been cases of hacking pages on social networks: the attackers wrote contacts asking for bank card numbers supposedly to transfer money, and some agreed – eventually lost their money.
